Looking back at The last Open tea of the year
The last Open Tea of the year, organised by Data4Development and Partos/The Spindle, took place at Oxfam. During the gathering, some 30 data and other professionals from the International Development sector came together to share their work and their challenges.

Data challenges or data opportunities?
As a strong advocate for data-driven knowledge and decision making in the nonprofit sector, it is interesting to see how more and more organizations are becoming aware of the importance of data. They view gathering and using data as a tool that can help strengthen their work, rather than only an obligation from donors that needs to be met.
Partos Innovation Festival
Thursday the 11th of October, Data4Development participated in the Partos Innovation Festival in Amsterdam. We gave half-hourly workshops on ProMEva and IATI, Gyan got to go on speeddates and Maaike was part of a panel on ‘Data & Digitalisation’. In this blog, we will recap the interesting and inspiring day at the Innovation Festival.
The launch of the Data Quality Validator
Since early 2016, we are helping organisations produce and improve their IATI data. We created tools to visualise their data and show what the data is about. And we started delivering automated data quality feedback, based on our experiences with “data in the wild”.
Third Open Tea of the year: a recap.
The third Open tea of the year organised by Data4Development and Partos/The Spindle saw a range of great examples and lessons. Theme of the day was the way relevant and available data could be used for informed programming and decision making. About 20 participants gathered at the Simavi office in Amsterdam to listen to, and discuss, cases from four different organisations.
